A Day out at Trebah

There are so many gardens to visit in Cornwall, each with it's own identity. Some are more geared to keeping children entertained than others and Trebah Garden near Falmouth is definitely in this category -  a great day out for families and couples alike. Nestled in a valley the vegetation is lush and magnificent. Camelias and rhododendrons in Spring, well established trees all year round, a massive stand of exquisite blue hydrangeas flank the lake in summer and much more to interest the horticulturists amongst you.

The towering Gunnera in the summer months are a fascination for all.

There's the private beach on the banks of the river Fal which was used as a D-Day embarkation point in WWII with the Boathouse cafe open in the summer months too. Plenty of history here and the interactive Visitor Centre near the garden entrance appeals to all ages.

Or the ampitheatre for various productions and concerts.

Who can resist a bit of bamboo hugging.....

Two adventure playgrounds in the shade of the trees,  handily close to the Trebah Kitchen too.
