There are many fine beaches on the doorstep including Sennen Cove renowned for its surf and the unspoilt beaches at Porthcurno and Praa Sands. Both Penzance and nearby Newlyn have a thriving arts scene with several art galleries.

Good links to the rest of the UK are provided by the mainland rail network, of which Penzance is the southernmost station. A reliable local bus service also gives holiday makers alternative options for exploring the area. Long distance coach services from Penzance operate daily to all major cities and centres throughout the country with either direct routes or connecting services.
